Lemurs come from exactly one island on the whole planet, which explains a lot about the ones in this collection. When your entire family has lived in the same tropical neighborhood for millions of years, you either settle in for good or you build a rocket and leave. The lemurs here have split right down the middle on that question, and both sides are holding a beer about it under I've Got This… Hold My Beer. One looks to the stars. The other looks for shade.
The one who went up
Lunar Lemur Lily is fully suited for space, sitting in a white astronaut suit with a round helmet framing her face and the control panel on her chest lit up and ready. Her black and white ringed tail curls out behind her, because no space agency on earth could design a suit that hides that tail and she refused to try. In one gloved hand she holds up a golden beer with a proper foam head, and she sits between two dark banners like a mission patch for the most relaxed crew ever launched. Somewhere in orbit, the ground crew is asking her to confirm her coordinates, and she is finishing her drink first.
The one who stayed put
Demure Lemur took the other path and has zero regrets. He sits cross-legged in the sand with enormous round eyes, soft gray fur and a white face, cradling a tall beer in both hands like it is the most important thing on the island. Palm fronds and tropical leaves rise up all around him in loose watercolor greens and golds, and his striped tail curls lazily along the ground. His expression is polite, composed and completely unhurried. He is not ignoring you. He is simply on island time, and island time is running a little behind.
For the dreamer and the homebody, and the friend who is both
These designs belong to the space nerd who watches every launch live, the astronomy fan with a telescope on the back porch, the travel lover who talks about Madagascar like it is already booked, and the zoo regular who could pick the lemur exhibit out of a lineup. They also belong to the friend who dreams huge on Friday night and spends all of Saturday in the hammock. Picture your person with big plans and a comfy chair and you will know which ring tail is theirs. The rocket is fueled and the hammock is swinging. Both lemurs agree the beer comes first.
