Scientists keep saying dolphins are among the smartest animals on the planet, and the dolphins in this collection have taken that very personally. They got jobs. They got badges. They got helmets with flames painted on the side. Then they swam back out to the open water with a cold one, because being brilliant does not mean skipping the fun part. Badge Dolphin wears a police cap and a navy uniform covered in badges, a pint in one flipper, bursting out of a spray of rainbow paint like the most colorful roll call ever held. Firehead Dolphin rises out of the waves in a red firefighter helmet with flames licking up behind it and a mug of beer held steady. Fire Captain Dolphin pops out of a splash in a turnout coat with bright reflective stripes, holding a bottle up like he is toasting a job well done. Navy Dolphin stands proud in a dark uniform jacket with a mug in hand, while a second dolphin leaps through the spray behind him, clearly the one who got shore leave first.
Off duty and back in the water
Surfing Dolphin Waves rides a board across a glowing splash of color on a black background, beer balanced on the nose of the board like the easiest trick in the world. And Dolphin Splash is the purest of them all: a sleek dolphin arcing high out of the water, a blue bottle bobbing right beside him, no uniform, no schedule, nothing on the calendar but the next jump. It is the dolphin version of a long weekend, and he is making the most of it.
For the one who makes brave look easy
These are for the officers, firefighters and sailors who do hard things with a grin that never quite leaves their face. They are for the ocean lovers, the aquarium regulars, the kid who wanted to be a marine biologist and grew up to be a pretty great beach bum instead. Picture your person on the boat, the first one off the side and the last one back on the ladder, and you will know which dolphin gets them. The rest of the pod is already circling the boat. They heard someone opened the cooler.
