The Yard Skeletons Got Up and Joined the Party

Every October the plastic skeletons come out of the garage and take their places on the lawn, in the porch chair, hanging off the gutter. In the Halloween Shop at I've Got This… Hold My Beer, they finally got tired of posing. They climbed down, grabbed a drink and went off to do whatever they wanted for the season, and the results are drawn in bold retro style with a spooky pun on every one.

Costume party ready

Walk into the Halloween party in one of these and the costume question answers itself. Ghostly Jab leans against the ropes in boxing gloves with a mug raised, Knocking 'Em Out takes a swing in the ring, Bone-Krushing Karate kicks high over a city at dusk, and En Garde, Bonehead brings a fencing foil to the festivities. Tackle to Tombstone runs a football through the dark like it is the homecoming game of the undead, and the dunker, the spiker and the archer round out a league that only plays after sundown.

The haunted weekend getaway

Some skeletons spent the season on vacation. Navigation to Nowhere sails off in a little boat, Swimming in the Buff takes a sunset dip with a beer in hand, and Fishing for Souls reels in a fish big enough to brag about at the monster mash. Catchin' Waves surfs under the words Ditchin' the Grave, and Par for the Corpse lines up a putt on the spookiest course in town.

Fright night thrills

For the ones who love a good scare, Falling Apart in Style leaps off a ledge above the pines, Skeleton Sky Diver free-falls with his mug out in front of him, Climb Hard scales a rock face high above the valley, and Grind to Dust sends a skateboard flying. Ride Hard, Die Harder gallops off on a dark horse with his red cape flying, which is about as close as this collection gets to a headless horseman.

For the one who decorates in September

This is for the neighbor whose yard turns into a graveyard the day after Labor Day, the friend who plans a costume in July, the dad who works the candy bowl in a skeleton outfit and scares the teenagers on purpose. It is for the haunted house volunteers, the scary movie marathon hosts and everyone who thinks Halloween is the best night of the year. Hold one up and they will want it for the party, because that is SO them. Just check the porch before you hand out candy this year. The skeleton who used to sit there left a note saying he went surfing.
