Rabbits are not known for their love of water. They are known for twitchy noses, fast getaways and hiding under the porch at the first loud noise. So when a bunny signs up to go to sea, it is worth paying attention. Sailor Bunny, the first mate of the Bunnies & Hares collection, has stepped aboard in a smart navy jacket and a bow tie, lifted a mug of beer and announced I've Got This… Hold My Beer to anyone within earshot, which, with ears like his, is a very wide radius.
Dressed for the voyage
He is snow white from ear to toe, with tall ears lined in soft pink, bright eyes and a big, delighted grin that shows off a pair of proud front teeth. His jacket is a deep navy blue with rows of shiny gold buttons down the front and a round anchor badge pinned on the chest, the kind of detail you only get right if you actually care about the uniform. At his neck is a bright orange and red bow tie, slightly larger than regulation, which feels like a personal choice he is standing by. Behind him, a burst of blue watercolor splashes out in every direction, like the sea itself came up to shake his paw.
Toasting the open water
In one paw he holds a golden mug of beer with foam piled on top, raised out to the side in a cheerful little salute. His whole posture says he is having the best day of his life and would like everyone else on deck to know it. There is not a single nervous whisker on him. Rabbits are supposed to freeze when something big comes toward them. This one is looking straight at the horizon, beer in paw, ready to meet whatever comes over the next swell with a grin and a good attitude. The gold buttons are polished. The bow tie is holding up beautifully.
For the one who was nervous and went anyway
This design is for the first-time sailor, the new recruit, the cruise lover who packs a formal outfit for every night aboard, and the bunny people who have a house rabbit hopping around the living room like a tiny landlord. It is for the quiet friend who surprised everyone by signing up for the big adventure and then turned out to be the life of it. Picture your person dressed a little too nicely for the occasion, grinning ear to ear and completely at home, and you will know. Back on shore, the other rabbits are still hiding under the porch. This one has a boat and a beer.
