Some players call the ball. This one calls his shot and then commits every bone he owns to it. The Volleyball collection stars Skeleton Spiker, a grinning skeleton rising up at the net, one hand cocked back to hammer the ball, the other hand holding a frosty pint perfectly level. Curved around him in bold hand-drawn letters is his entire game plan: Spike It Til I Shatter.
Pure vertical, zero hesitation
The art is drawn like an old-school sports badge, a cream circle with the net stretched across behind him and little stars popping off the ball like it just got served into next week. The skeleton is all elbows, ribs and attitude, jaw wide open mid-yell. There is no muscle on him whatsoever, and yet he has clearly never lost a rally. Nobody at the net has ever been this relaxed about gravity, and nobody has ever kept a beer that steady while jumping.
The volleyball personality
Anyone who plays knows the type. They dive for balls that were never getting saved. They show up to the beach with knee pads and a cooler. They trash talk the other side in the friendliest way possible, then high-five the whole team after every single point, including the ones they lost. Skeleton Spiker is that player, stripped all the way down to the essentials. He brought his hops, his swagger and his drink, and he did not bother bringing anything else.
For the one who goes up for every ball
This is for the rec league captain, the sand court regular who is tan from April to October, the parent who coaches on Saturday mornings and plays on Tuesday nights. It is for the teammate who yells mine on every ball, even the ones clearly headed to someone else. You already have a name in mind. Hand it over at the next tournament and watch them hold it up to the whole court for approval. Side out, rotate, and nobody touch the skeleton's pint. He has a serve coming up and he is feeling lucky.
